How to Draw a Switch
Draw a switch in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the plate.
Step 1: The plate
In the middle draw a tall box with rounded corners, taller than it is wide, for the switch plate.
Step 2: The inner plate
Inside it draw a second rounded box a finger in all the way round.
Step 3: Two big eyes
A little below the middle of the plate draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: The lever
In the middle, above the face, draw a small tall rounded box for the lever.
Step 6: The slot
Round the bottom of the lever draw a wider rounded slot, starting and stopping at the lever's sides.
Step 7: Two screws
Draw a small round screw above the lever and one below the smile, each with a short line across.
Step 8: Sparkles
Draw 3 sparkle stars around the plate.
Step 9: Sand and cream
Go over your lines. Colour the plate sand and the inner plate cream, around the face, lever, slot and screws.
Tip Keep the eyes white.
Step 10: Red lever, grey screws
Colour the lever red, then the slot around it and the screws grey.
Step 11: Pink cheeks, yellow sparkles
Colour the cheeks pink and the sparkles yellow. Your light switch is done!
