How to Draw a Taxi Driver

Draw a taxi driver in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: driver's head.

Step 1: Driver's head
Left of the middle, just above halfway, draw a small egg head, narrower at the chin.
Tip Draw the head small: the taxi takes up most of the page.
Step 2: Face
Draw 2 big oval eyes, a nose and a smile. Each C ear starts and stops on the head line.
Step 3: Flat cap
Draw a wide, low cap over the top of the head, above the eyes. Add a curved brim under its front.
Step 4: The cab
Around the driver draw a taxi facing left: bonnet, windscreen slope, flat roof above the cap, boot and back.
Tip Leave room above the cap for the roof.
Step 5: Windows and door
Draw a front window round the driver and a back window behind. Add a door line and a handle.
Step 6: Wheels and road
Under the cab, draw 2 big round wheels, each with a hub circle. Draw a long road line under them.
Step 7: Sign and lights
On the roof, draw a short stand with a long box on top. Add a headlight, bumper and tail light.
Step 8: Arm out the window
Curve 2 shoulders from the head down to the window bottom. Draw a bent sleeve lying on the door.
Tip The elbow sticks out towards the front of the taxi.
Step 9: Hand on the door
On the end of the sleeve draw a round mitten hand with a small thumb bump on top.
Step 10: Yellow cab
Go over your lines. Colour the whole taxi yellow, around the windows, wheels, bumper and arm.
Step 11: Sky windows
Colour both windows sky blue, around the driver.
Step 12: Peach skin
Colour the face, the ears and the hand peach. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Grey shirt, brown cap
Colour the shirt and sleeve grey and the cap brown.
Step 14: Black wheels
Colour the wheels black, leaving the hubs white, and your taxi driver is done!
