How to Draw a Hand Holding a Flower

Step 1: The thumb

Start on the left. Draw up and over a fat thumb pointing right, round the tip, and stop under it.

Tip Keep the thumb fat and short, tilted up a little.

Step 2: First curled finger

Start under the thumb tip. Draw a long sausage finger lying sideways, and stop where the thumb line ends.

Step 3: Two more fingers

Under it draw 2 more sausage fingers. Each one starts and stops on the finger above.

Step 4: Little finger

Start on the finger above. Draw the last finger the same way, a bit shorter, and stop on it again.

Step 5: Side and wrist

Start at the thumb's left end and curve down the side. Stop low, then add a short wrist line.

Step 6: Soft cuff

Across the 2 wrist ends draw a soft cuff with round corners, a little wider than the wrist.

Step 7: Flower middle

High above the thumb tip, draw a small round circle for the middle of the flower.

Step 8: Six petals

Around the middle draw 6 fat egg petals. Each one starts and stops on the circle.

Tip Draw the top and bottom petals first, then 2 on each side.

Step 9: The stem

Draw 2 lines from the bottom petal down to the thumb. Draw the stem's round end below the little finger.

Tip The hand hides the middle of the stem, so do not draw through the fingers.

Step 10: A leaf

Start on the stem's right side. Draw a pointed leaf back to the stem, with a line down its middle.

Step 11: Thumb nail

Near the tip of the thumb draw a small rounded nail.

Step 12: Yellow and pink

Colour the flower middle yellow. Colour the 6 petals and the thumb nail pink.

Step 13: Peach hand

Colour the thumb, the fingers, the hand and the wrist peach, around the pink nail.

Step 14: Green and blue

Colour the stem and the leaf green and the cuff blue. Go over your lines and your flower is done!
