How to Draw a Takeout Box
Draw a takeout box in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the front.
Step 1: The front
In the middle of your paper draw a tall box, a little wider at the top than the bottom.
Tip A takeout carton is a folded paper box that gets narrower at the bottom.
Step 2: The side
From the top right corner draw a short line up and out, then a side line down to the bottom.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a black dot in each, leaving a white shine.
Step 4: The top flaps
Draw a flap leaning back on top of the front, a fold line across it, and a triangle side flap.
Step 5: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile, and a small flat oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 6: The wire handle
From the top flap draw a thin arch handle up and over, back down to the flap.
Step 7: Chopsticks
Sticking up out of the top on the right draw 2 long thin chopsticks leaning right, side by side.
Step 8: Table and shadow
Draw a flat oval shadow round the carton's bottom, then a table line out from each side of it.
Step 9: White carton, grey side
Go over your lines. Colour the side, side flap and shadow grey. Leave the front, top flap and eyes white.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, red band
Colour the cheeks pink and the band on the top flap red, down to the fold line.
Step 11: Wood chopsticks, slate handle
Colour the chopsticks wood brown and the wire handle slate grey. Your takeout box is ready to go!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a takeout box, drawn by you.
