How to Draw a Rake

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a rake in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the pole.

Print

  1. Step 1: The pole

Start above the middle. Draw a thin pole up nearly to the top and back down, stopping where you started.

  2. Step 2: Collar and fan

Under the pole draw a small collar. From its corners draw 2 long slanting tines with bent tips.

  3. Step 3: The cross bar

Below the collar draw a thin bowed band across, from the left tine to the right tine.

  4. Step 4: The tines

From the collar draw 5 more tines with bent tips between them, passing behind the bar.

  5. Step 5: The grip

Near the top of the pole draw 2 short lines straight across it, a thumb apart.

  6. Step 6: Ground and leaf pile

Draw a ground line under the tips. On the right, pile up 3 leaves, each with a middle line.

  7. Step 7: Falling leaves

Draw 3 falling leaves: 2 on the right, 1 on the left. Give each a stem and a middle line.

  8. Step 8: Wooden pole

Go over your lines, then colour the pole wood brown.

  9. Step 9: Grey collar and bar

Colour the collar and the cross bar grey. Leave the tines as plain lines.

  10. Step 10: Orange leaves

Colour all the leaves orange. Your rake is done!
