How to Draw a Retainer Case
Draw a retainer case in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the tray.
Step 1: The tray
Below the middle draw a wide flat oval. Add a short curved side under it, from end to end.
Step 2: The open lid
From the back of the oval draw a big round lid up, over and back down to the oval.
Tip The lid is open, so it stands up behind the tray.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the lid draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 5: The lid rim
Inside the lid draw a smaller round line round the face, starting and stopping on the oval.
Step 6: Inside the tray
Inside the flat oval draw a smaller flat oval, a finger in from the edge.
Step 7: The retainer
In the tray draw a thick U-shaped plate with a hollow middle and round ends, for the retainer.
Step 8: The wire
Start on the U's left side, draw a thin wire round its front, and stop on its right side.
Step 9: Ground
Draw a ground line under the tray from left to right.
Step 10: Cream insides
Go over your lines. Colour the lid and tray insides cream, around the cheeks and retainer. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Pink retainer and cheeks
Colour the retainer plate and the cheeks pink.
Step 12: Purple case
Colour the lid rim, the tray rim and the tray side purple, around the cream. Your retainer is safe!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a retainer case, drawn by you.
