How to Draw a Propeller Hat
Draw a propeller hat in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the dome.
Step 1: The dome
Draw a big round dome, like half a ball. Close the bottom with a curve that sags like a smile.
Tip Leave room above the dome for the propeller.
Step 2: The brim
Start on the bottom edge near the left. Draw a wide shallow U under the hat, up to the right.
Tip Keep the brim small: it only pokes out a little.
Step 3: Middle stripe
From the top of the dome draw 2 lines down to the bottom edge, bowing apart like a tall bell.
Step 4: Side stripes
From the top again, draw 1 more curved line on each side, down to the bottom edge.
Tip Now the hat has 5 stripes.
Step 5: The post
On the very top of the dome draw a short thin post standing straight up.
Step 6: The hub
On top of the post draw a small circle.
Step 7: Two blades
On each side of the circle draw a long blade: thin at the circle, fat and round at the end.
Tip Make both blades the same length.
Step 8: Spin marks
Draw 2 short curved marks beside the end of each blade, one above and one below.
Step 9: Yellow stripes
Colour the hub, the post and the 2 stripes beside the middle stripe yellow.
Step 10: Red stripes
Colour the 2 outside stripes and both blades red.
Step 11: Blue middle and brim
Go over your lines. Colour the middle stripe and the brim blue. Your propeller hat is ready to spin!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a propeller hat, drawn by you.
