How to Draw a Swimmer
Draw a swimmer in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 big eyes, a U nose and a smile. Add C ears, starting and stopping on the head.
Step 3: Swim cap and goggles
Start on the left side above the eyebrows. Draw the cap over the top, down to the right. Add goggles.
Step 4: Neck and swim shirt
Draw 2 neck lines under the chin. From the left one draw a shirt, back up to the right one.
Step 5: Arms
From each sleeve, draw 2 lines down to the wrist with a soft elbow, getting narrower.
Step 6: Mitten hands
At each wrist, start on one arm line, draw a mitten with a thumb pointing in, stop on the other.
Step 7: Armbands
Draw a fat, puffy armband around the middle of each upper arm. Rub out the arm lines inside.
Step 8: Swim trunks
Start at the shirt's bottom left corner. Draw trunks, pointed between the legs, back up to the right corner.
Step 9: Legs
From the trunks, draw 2 lines for each leg, getting narrower down to the ankle.
Step 10: Bare feet and ground
For each foot, start on one leg line, draw 3 toe bumps and a round heel, stop on the other.
Tip Then add a ground line under both feet.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms, hands, legs and feet peach. Add pink cheeks.
Tip Keep the eyes white.
Step 12: Sky cap, orange trunks
Colour the cap and goggles sky blue, and the trunks orange.
Step 13: Blue shirt, red armbands
Colour the swim shirt blue and the armbands red. Go over your lines and your swimmer is done.
