How to Draw a Swim Cap and Goggles

16 steps · Tricky · about 12 min

Draw a swim cap and goggles in 16 steps, about 12 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top draw a big egg for the head, round on top and narrower at the chin.

Tip Make it big: the cap and the big eyes need room.

  2. Step 2: Swim cap

Start halfway down the head's left side. Draw a smooth dome over to the right. Curve back across the forehead.

Tip Rub out the top of the head inside the cap.

  3. Step 3: Big eyes

Under the cap draw 2 big round eyes. Colour a big black dot in each, leaving a white shine.

  4. Step 4: Nose and smile

Under the eyes draw a tiny U nose, then a wide U smile below it.

  5. Step 5: Two ears

Below each cap corner draw a C ear, starting and stopping on the head. Add a small C inside.

  6. Step 6: The neck

Under the chin draw 2 short neck lines, then join their bottoms with a U.

  7. Step 7: Swim shirt

From the bottom of each neck line, slope a shoulder out and down, then join them across the bottom.

  8. Step 8: Goggle lenses

High on the cap, above its edge, draw 2 round goggle lenses side by side.

  9. Step 9: The bridge

Between the 2 lenses draw a tiny flat bar joining them.

  10. Step 10: Goggle strap

From the outside of each lens draw a wide strap round the cap, stopping at the side of the cap.

  11. Step 11: Water drops

Draw 3 little water drops, like teardrops, in the air beside the cap.

  12. Step 12: Yellow shirt

Go over your lines, then colour the swim shirt yellow.

  13. Step 13: Pink strap and cheeks

Colour the goggle strap and the bridge pink. Add a pink cheek below each eye.

  14. Step 14: Peach skin

Colour the face, ears and neck peach, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  15. Step 15: Sky-blue cap

Colour the cap and the water drops sky blue, around the goggles and the strap.

  16. Step 16: Navy lenses

Colour the lenses navy, leaving a thin white shine in each. Ready, set, swim!
