How to Draw a String Trimmer
Draw a string trimmer in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the motor box.
Step 1: The motor box
Near the top right draw a long rounded box tipped on a slant, for the motor.
Tip It spins a plastic string to cut grass where a mower can't reach.
Step 2: Two eyes
On the motor box draw 2 small round eyes side by side. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a tiny U smile. Add a tiny oval cheek beside each end of the smile.
Step 4: Top grip
From the top end of the motor draw a short fat grip sticking out up to the right.
Step 5: The guard
At the bottom left draw the guard, a half-round dome, flat along the bottom a little above the ground.
Step 6: The shaft
Draw the long shaft, 2 close lines from the motor slanting down to the top of the guard.
Step 7: Loop handle
Partway down the shaft draw a loop handle, a curved band from the shaft, bowing up and back to it.
Step 8: Cutting head
Under the guard draw a flat oval for the spinning head, touching the ground. Draw a smaller oval inside it.
Step 9: Whirl lines
Beside the head draw 2 short curved whirl lines on the left.
Step 10: Ground and grass
Draw a ground line from left to right. Add 3 grass tufts on the right, each with 3 soft blades.
Step 11: Pink and orange
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the motor, guard and head orange around the face, leaving the eyes white.
Step 12: Grey shaft and grips
Colour the shaft, top grip and loop handle dark grey.
Step 13: Green grass
Colour the grass green. Whirrr!
