How to Draw a Headlamp
Draw a headlamp in 13 steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
Near the middle draw a big head circle. Draw a hair cap over the top, down to the forehead.
Tip A headlamp is a torch on a strap: your hands stay free.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
On the face draw 2 round eyes, one eye apart. Colour a big black dot in each, leaving a shine.
Step 3: A smile
Under the eyes, in the middle, draw a little U smile.
Step 4: Cheeks
Beside each end of the smile draw a small oval cheek.
Step 5: The strap
Across the forehead draw a strap: 2 close curved lines from one side of the head across to the other.
Tip Rub out any hair lines inside the strap.
Step 6: The lamp
On the strap's middle draw a rounded box lamp, taller than the strap, with a round lens inside.
Tip Rub out the strap lines inside the lamp.
Step 7: The beam
From the lamp's top corners draw 2 lines spreading up, half a head tall. Join them with a rainbow.
Step 8: The neck
Under the chin draw a short neck: 2 short lines down from the head, joined across the bottom.
Step 9: Round shoulders
From each end of the neck draw a round shoulder curving down. Join them straight across the bottom.
Step 10: Yellow light, pink cheeks
Go over your lines. Colour the light yellow and the cheeks pink.
Step 11: Peach skin
Colour the face and neck peach, around the eyes and cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Red strap, green shirt
Colour the strap red and the shirt green.
Step 13: Brown hair, slate lamp
Colour the hair brown and the lamp slate grey, leaving the lens white. Now you can see in the dark!
