How to Draw a Swan
Draw a swan in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: small head.
Step 1: Small head
Near the top left of your paper, draw a small egg head, a little wider than it is tall.
Tip Leave lots of room below for a long neck and a big body.
Step 2: Bill and knob
Draw a long bill with a mouth line along it. Add a little knob where the bill meets the head.
Step 3: One friendly eye
Behind the knob, high on the head, draw a round eye with a big black dot and a white shine.
Step 4: Long S neck
Start under the head. Draw 2 thin lines down in a gentle S, and stop halfway down the page.
Tip No corners: thin near the head, a little wider at the bottom.
Step 5: Boat body
From the neck lines, draw a round chest down in front, and a back to a pointy tail, then down.
Tip Stop both lines low down at the same height. The water goes there.
Step 6: Teardrop wing
On the body, draw a big teardrop wing, round near the neck and pointed near the tail.
Step 7: Feather lines
Near the wing's point, draw 2 short curved lines from the bottom edge up toward the tip.
Step 8: Wavy water
From the left edge, draw a wavy line across under the swan to the right edge. Add 2 ripples.
Step 9: Cream wing
Leave the swan and the eye white. Colour the wing cream, pressing softly.
Step 10: Orange bill
Colour the bill orange, from the round tip back to the head.
Step 11: Blue water, black knob
Colour the water blue under the wavy line, all the way across. Colour the little knob black.
