How to Draw a Swamp Creature
Draw a swamp creature in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: wide head.
Step 1: Wide head
Near the top of your paper, draw a big head, wider than tall, with fat round cheeks.
Tip Leave room above the head for 3 fins.
Step 2: Big eyes
In the middle of the head, draw 2 big round eyes, a gap apart. Add a black dot and shine in each.
Step 3: Nostrils and smile
Under the eyes, draw 2 tiny nostril dots. Draw a wide smile under them, starting and stopping under the eyes.
Step 4: Spiky fin
On top of the head, draw 3 pointy fins side by side. Make the middle one the tallest.
Step 5: Fin ears
On each side of the head, draw a fin ear with 3 points, like a little fan.
Step 6: Pear body
Under the head, draw a big pear body, widest low down. Draw an egg tummy patch in its middle.
Step 7: Arms and webbed hands
From under each cheek, draw a fat arm. Bend it in to a round hand on the tummy. Add 2 finger lines.
Step 8: Legs and big feet
On each side of the body, draw a round C leg and a huge flat foot. Add 2 toe lines.
Step 9: Water, reed, lily pad
From the left edge, draw wavy water under the feet across to the right. Add a reed and a lily pad.
Step 10: Pale tummy and pad
Colour the tummy patch and the lily pad light green.
Step 11: Green skin
Colour the head, body, arms, legs and feet green, around the tummy. Leave the eyes and fins white.
Step 12: Teal fins, brown cattail
Colour the 3 head fins and the fin ears teal. Colour the cattail brown. Your swamp creature is done!
