How to Draw Suspenders

Step 1: The trousers

Low on your paper draw tall trousers with 2 long legs and a gap between. Leave room above.

Tip Suspenders are stretchy straps that go over your shoulders to hold your trousers up.

Step 2: Two eyes

A little below the top draw 2 round eyes with a small gap. Colour a black dot in each.

Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a small U smile. Add a small oval cheek under the outside of each eye.

Step 4: The waistband

Between the top and the eyes draw a waistband line, start at the left side and stop at the right.

Step 5: Button

In the middle of the waistband draw a small round button.

Step 6: Two clips

Over the top edge of the waistband draw 2 small square clips, one near each side.

Step 7: The straps

From each clip draw a straight strap going up, slanting in a little. Give it a round top.

Step 8: The hanger

Draw a wide triangle for the hanger. Its bottom bar stops at each strap, just under the round tops.

Step 9: The hook

From the top point draw a short line straight up, then curl a hook over to the left.

Step 10: The rail

Through the tip of the hook draw a straight rail, a little wider than the hanger on each side.

Step 11: Turn-ups

Near the bottom of each leg draw a line across, start at the outside edge and stop at the inside.

Step 12: Creases

Down the middle of each leg draw a long crease line, from below the face down to the turn-up.

Step 13: Twinkles

Draw a little four-point twinkle in the air at each side of the trousers.

Step 14: Pink cheeks

Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink.

Step 15: Red and grey

Colour the straps red, then the clips and the button grey.

Step 16: Navy trousers

Colour the trousers navy blue, around the face, clips and button. Leave the eyes white. Snap!
