How to Draw an Arm in a Sling
Draw an arm in a sling in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and ears.
Step 1: Head and ears
Draw a big circle head, a C ear on each side, and a hair cap with a wavy fringe.
Tip A sling holds a hurt arm up safely against the tummy.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the face draw 2 round eyes side by side. Colour a black dot in each, with a shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a little U smile, and a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Neck and T-shirt
Under the head draw a short neck, then a T-shirt with short sleeves, down to the bottom of your paper.
Step 5: The hurt arm
From the left sleeve draw the hurt arm down to a bent elbow, then across the tummy to the right.
Step 6: The other arm
From the right sleeve draw the other arm hanging down, with a soft elbow bend, thinner at the wrist.
Step 7: Two fists
On each arm draw a fist like a fat egg with a thumb bump. The hurt arm's fist points right.
Step 8: The sling
Over the hurt arm draw the sling: a wide pocket from elbow to fist, flat on top, U below.
Step 9: Straps and folds
From each top corner of the sling draw a strap up to the neck, behind the head. Add folds.
Step 10: Cream sling
Go over your lines, then colour the sling and straps cream.
Step 11: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, ears, neck, arms and fists peach, then the cheeks pink. Leave the eyes white.
Step 12: Blue shirt, brown hair
Colour the T-shirt sky blue, going around the sling and straps, then the hair brown. All better soon!
