How to Draw a Loft Bed
Draw a loft bed in 12 steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: posts and floor.
Step 1: Posts and floor
Draw a floor line from edge to edge. Stand 2 tall thin posts on it, one near each side.
Step 2: The high mattress
A third of the way down draw a long flat soft box for the mattress, from post to post.
Step 3: Pillow and face
On the left of the mattress draw a puffy pillow with 2 round eyes, black dots and a smile.
Step 4: The blanket
From the middle of the mattress draw the blanket: a soft bump across to the right post, then down.
Step 5: Guard rail
From the left post draw a long bar over the pillow, ending in a short post down to the mattress.
Step 6: The ladder
On the right draw a ladder from the floor up to just above the blanket, with 6 rungs.
Step 7: The desk
Under the bed on the left draw a desk: a flat top and 2 thin legs down to the floor.
Step 8: The lamp
On the desk draw a lamp: a base, a short stem and a flat-topped shade below the bed.
Step 9: Blanket folds
Draw 2 soft curved lines down the blanket, from just under its top to its bottom, for the folds.
Step 10: Cream and yellow
Go over your lines, then colour the mattress cream and the lamp shade yellow. Leave the pillow and eyes white.
Step 11: Grey and wood brown
Colour the lamp stem and base grey. Colour the posts, rail, ladder and desk wood brown.
Step 12: Blue blanket
Colour the blanket blue, around the ladder, and your loft bed is ready for bedtime!

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a loft bed, drawn by you.
