How to Draw a Sushi Cat

14 steps · Medium · about 11 min

Draw a sushi cat in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big soft head.

Print

  1. Step 1: Big soft head

On the left of your paper draw a big soft head, wider than tall, like a bun.

Tip Leave room on the right for the long body.

  2. Step 2: Pointy ears

On each top corner of the head draw a pointy ear. Add a small triangle inside each one.

  3. Step 3: Happy closed eyes

Across the middle of the head draw 2 closed eyes, each a little rainbow curve.

  4. Step 4: Nose and smile

Under the eyes draw a tiny triangle nose. From its point draw a W smile.

    Tip Keep the nose small.

  5. Step 5: Whiskers

Start on each cheek. Draw 2 short whiskers going out, away from the face.

    Tip Keep the whiskers short.

  6. Step 6: Tucked paws

Under the chin draw 2 round paws side by side. Add 2 toe lines on each.

Tip Rub out the chin line inside the paws.

  7. Step 7: Long round back

From the right ear draw a long hill to the right, down a round rump and back to the paws.

Tip The body is longer than the head.

  8. Step 8: Folded back leg

Start on the bottom line near the rump. Draw a rainbow curve up and over to the rump.

Tip This is the back leg, folded under the cat.

  9. Step 9: Rice block

Under the cat draw a long box with round corners. Rule a ground line under it.

Tip The paws hang over the top of the rice.

  10. Step 10: Seaweed belt

Draw a wide belt over the middle of the back and straight down the rice to the ground.

Tip Rub out the cat and rice lines inside the belt.

  11. Step 11: Hanging tail

Start on the rump. Draw a fat tail hanging down over the end of the rice, curling left.

Tip Rub out the rice line inside the tail.

  12. Step 12: Rice grains

On the rice draw 7 short curved dashes for grains, tilted different ways.

  13. Step 13: Pink and ginger

Colour the nose and inside the ears pink. Colour the cat ginger, but not the belt.

  14. Step 14: Green seaweed

Go over your lines. Colour the seaweed belt dark green. Leave the rice white.
