How to Draw a Cuttlefish
Draw a cuttlefish in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
Across the middle of your paper, draw a big soft oval, much wider than it is tall.
Step 2: Frilly fin
Start above the front. Draw a thin wavy fin hugging the top, round the back, stopping under the front.
Step 3: Big eye and smile
Near the front, draw a big round eye with a black dot and a shine. Add a small smile below.
Step 4: Zebra stripes
Behind the eye, draw 3 curved stripes from top to bottom of the body. Each is 2 close lines.
Step 5: Three short arms
Along the front of the body, draw 3 short wavy arms pointing forward, each thinner to a round tip.
Step 6: Two tentacles
Between the arms, draw 2 thin tentacles a bit longer than the arms, each ending in an oval paddle.
Step 7: Bubbles
Draw 3 bubbles floating up above the arms, small to big.
Step 8: Cream fin
Go over your lines. Colour the frilly fin cream, all the way round.
Step 9: Tan body and arms
Colour the body, arms and tentacles tan, around the stripes. Leave the eye white.
Step 10: Blue bubbles, brown stripes
Colour the bubbles light blue, then the 3 stripes brown, right up to the edge of the body.
