How to Draw a Manatee
Draw a manatee in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: long potato body.
Step 1: Long potato body
Start at the thin right end. Draw round the back, head, droopy nose and tummy. Stop just below the start.
Tip Leave the thin end open: the tail goes there.
Step 2: Big snout
Start on the forehead above the nose. Draw a C curve round the snout and stop under it.
Step 3: Big shiny eye
Above the snout, draw a big round eye with a black dot and a white shine.
Step 4: Nostril and whiskers
On top of the snout, draw a small nostril. Add 3 whisker dots lower down on the snout.
Step 5: Happy smile
Start under the snout and draw a little smile back into the cheek. Stop below the eye.
Step 6: Paddle flipper
Start on the tummy below the eye. Draw a round paddle flipper down and back, and stop on the tummy.
Step 7: Round paddle tail
At the thin end, draw a big round paddle tail. Start on the top line, stop on the bottom.
Step 8: Sea floor
Under the manatee, draw a long flat line for the sea floor. Start on the left, stop on the right.
Step 9: Sea grass
On the sea floor, draw 2 small blades of sea grass, one near each end.
Step 10: Pale snout
Colour the snout a pale stone grey.
Step 11: Grey manatee
Colour the head, body, flipper and tail grey, around the snout. Leave the eye white.
Step 12: Green sea grass
Colour the sea grass green.
