How to Draw a Flying Superhero
Draw a flying superhero in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.
Step 1: The head
In the top right of your paper, draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.
Tip Leave room on the left for the cape and below for the legs.
Step 2: Mask and face
Across the middle of the head draw a mask with 2 eye holes. Put eyes in them, then a smile.
Tip The mask top dips like a wide M. Add a tiny nose and shines.
Step 3: Hair tufts
Start on the left of the head above the mask. Draw round tufts over the top, down to the right.
Tip Add a hairline curve across the forehead. Rub out the head line above it.
Step 4: Neck and body
Under the chin draw a short neck. Add a body with wide round shoulders, leaning left, narrower at the bottom.
Tip The body swings back because the hero is flying, not standing.
Step 5: Punching arm
From the right shoulder draw an arm up past the head, thinner at the wrist. Add a round fist.
Tip The fist points the way the hero is flying.
Step 6: Other arm
From the left shoulder draw an arm stretching back, thinner at the wrist. Put a round fist on the end.
Step 7: Legs trailing
From the bottom of the body draw 2 legs stretching back down to the left, thinner at the ankles.
Tip Legs out behind, not standing: that is what flying looks like.
Step 8: Pointed boots
On the end of each leg draw a boot: a wide cuff line across, then a pointed toe.
Step 9: Belt and star
Draw a belt across the waist with a square buckle. Add a 5-point star on the chest.
Tip The belt stops at the edges of the body.
Step 10: Streaming cape
Start behind the left shoulder. Draw the cape streaming back to the left, with a wavy hem to the legs.
Tip The cape tucks behind the body, the arm and the legs.
Step 11: Two clouds
Draw 2 little clouds, one up on the left and one down on the right. Give each a flat bottom.
Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour the face, neck and both fists peach, with a pink circle on each cheek. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Yellow star, red cape
Colour the star, belt and buckle yellow. Colour the cape, the mask and the boots red.
Step 14: Blue suit, brown hair
Colour the body, both arms and both legs blue, and the hair brown. Your flying superhero is done.
