How to Draw a People Talking
Draw a people talking in 14 easy steps, about 11 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: two heads.
Step 1: Two heads
In the middle of your paper draw 2 egg heads side by side, with a gap between them.
Tip Leave room above for speech bubbles and below for the bodies.
Step 2: The left face
On the left head draw 2 round eyes with dots looking right, a tiny nose and an open smile.
Step 3: The right face
On the right head draw the same face, with the dots looking left.
Step 4: Short hair, long hair
Give the left head short hair with soft bumps. Give the right head long hair down to the shoulders.
Step 5: Necks and T-shirts
Under each chin draw a short neck, then a T-shirt with short sleeves and a flat hem.
Step 6: Arms
Start at each sleeve. Draw 3 arms hanging down and 1 bending up, and stop at the wrists.
Tip The lifted arm belongs to the person on the left. Every arm gets thinner toward the wrist.
Step 7: Mitten hands
On each wrist draw a mitten hand with a small thumb. The lifted hand points up.
Step 8: Trousers
Start at each T-shirt's bottom corner. Draw long trousers down to the ankles and stop at the other corner.
Step 9: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw one ground line under all 4 shoes.
Step 10: Speech bubbles
Above each head draw a round bubble with a tail. Add 3 dots in one, 2 lines in the other.
Step 11: Peach skin
Colour both faces, necks, arms and hands peach. Leave the eyes and speech bubbles white.
Step 12: Yellow hair, orange shirt
Colour the long hair yellow and the left T-shirt orange.
Step 13: Purple shirt, blue trousers
Colour the right T-shirt purple and both pairs of trousers blue.
Step 14: Brown hair and shoes
Colour the short hair and all 4 shoes brown. Go over your lines. Your people are talking!
