How to Draw an Arms Behind Back
Draw an arms behind back in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and ears.
Step 1: Head and ears
Near the top draw a big egg head. Add a C ear on each side, starting and stopping on it.
Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.
Step 2: The face
Draw 2 big eyes in the middle with dots and shines. Add a U nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.
Step 3: Neat hair
Start above the left ear. Draw a smooth cap over the head and stop above the right ear.
Tip Keep it close to the head, like a swimming cap.
Step 4: Fringe and parting
From the left end go up to a point, then sweep across to the right end. Add a parting line.
Step 5: Neck and T-shirt
Draw 2 neck lines under the chin. From the left one, draw a short-sleeved T-shirt ending at the right one.
Step 6: Shorts
Start at the T-shirt's bottom left corner. Draw shorts with 2 legs, ending at the bottom right corner.
Tip Draw the shorts before the arms: the hands hide behind them.
Step 7: Arms tucked behind
From each sleeve draw an arm out to a bent elbow. Then bring it in and stop at the hip.
Tip No hands to draw: they are holding each other behind the back.
Step 8: Legs and socks
From each shorts leg draw 2 lines, closer at the ankle, stopping near the bottom. Add a sock curve.
Tip Stand the legs a little apart so the kid looks steady.
Step 9: Shoes and ground
Under each leg draw a shoe with the toe pointing out. Draw a ground line under the shoes.
Step 10: Peach skin, pink cheeks
Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, ears, neck, arms and legs peach. Leave the eyes and socks white.
Step 11: Green shirt, blue shorts
Colour the T-shirt green and the shorts blue.
Tip Colour right up to the arms, but not over them.
Step 12: Ginger hair, brown shoes
Colour the hair ginger and the shoes brown. Go over your lines and you are done.
