How to Draw a Sunflower Field
Draw a sunflower field in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the big middle.
Step 1: The big middle
In the middle of your paper draw a big round circle as big as a plum.
Step 2: Eyes and a smile
Across the middle of the circle draw 2 big egg eyes with a shine. Add a wide U smile.
Step 3: A ring of petals
Start on the circle near the top. Draw pointed petals round, 12 in all, back to the start.
Tip Each petal is like a sun ray with a round belly.
Step 4: The tall stem
Start under the bottom petal. Draw 2 gently curved lines down to near the bottom, spreading a little apart.
Step 5: Two fat leaves
A thumb below the petals draw a big fat leaf on each side of the stem, with a vein.
Step 6: Sunflower on the left
On the left draw a small sunflower. From under it draw 2 lines down to near the bottom.
Step 7: Sunflower on the right
On the right draw another small sunflower. From under it draw 2 stem lines down to near the bottom.
Step 8: Little leaves
Give each small sunflower 2 fat leaves, one on each side of the stem.
Step 9: The hill
Draw a gentle hill line from the left edge to the right edge, under the stems. Add a grass tuft.
Step 10: The sun
In the top-right corner draw a small sun with 8 short rays, each a little way out from the circle.
Step 11: Yellow petals and sun
Colour all the petal rings yellow, and the sun yellow too.
Step 12: Pink cheeks, brown middles
Give the big sunflower 2 pink cheeks. Colour the 3 middles brown around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 13: Green stems and leaves
Colour every stem and every leaf green. Go over your lines and your sunflower field is done!
