How to Draw an Autumn Tree
Draw an autumn tree in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the leafy top.
Step 1: The leafy top
Start on the left, halfway down. Draw a rainbow of big bumps up and over, stopping level on the right.
Tip Make the bumps different sizes, biggest on top.
Step 2: Bumps underneath
From the rainbow's right end draw 2 shallow bumps, leave a trunk gap, then 2 more to the left end.
Step 3: The trunk
From each end of the gap, draw a trunk line down near the bottom of your paper, flaring out.
Step 4: Two branches
From the trunk's left top, draw 2 round-tipped branches up with a V between, ending at the right top.
Step 5: Knot hole and bark
Low on the trunk draw a small egg for a knot hole, with a curve hugging its right side.
Step 6: Falling leaves
Draw 4 little leaves falling, 2 each side of the trunk, pointy at both ends with a middle line.
Step 7: Ground and grass
Draw a long ground line under the tree. Add 3 grass blades by the trunk's left foot.
Step 8: Fallen leaves
Draw 3 leaves lying on the ground, 2 right and 1 left, each with a short middle line.
Step 9: Orange leaves
Colour the leafy top orange, around the branches, and the 3 fallen leaves too.
Step 10: Ginger falling leaves
Colour the 4 falling leaves ginger.
Step 11: Wooden trunk
Colour the trunk and both branches wood brown, around the knot hole, then the knot hole brown.
Tip Go over your lines and your autumn tree is done!
