How to Draw a Sundress
Draw a sundress in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: top edge and straps.
Step 1: Top edge and straps
Near the top draw a small smile. From each end draw a strap up to meet in a tall V.
Tip The smile is about 3 fingers wide.
Step 2: A little bow
Where the straps meet draw a tiny round knot with a small teardrop loop on each side.
Step 3: The bodice
From each end of the top edge curve a line down to a narrow waist. Join them with a smile.
Step 4: The flared skirt
From each end of the waist draw a line sloping down and out. Stop below the middle of the paper.
Step 5: The wavy hem
Start at the bottom of the right skirt line. Draw 7 soft bumps across to the left skirt line.
Step 6: The sash
Under the waist draw a second smile for the sash, starting on the left side and stopping on the right.
Step 7: Two pockets
On each side of the skirt, below the sash, draw a pocket with a flat top and a rounded bottom.
Step 8: Flowers
Draw 5 flowers on the skirt, each 5 round petals around a dot: 1 high up, 4 above the hem.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 4 sparkle stars around the dress: 2 by the bodice and 2 by the skirt.
Step 10: Yellow dress
Go over your lines. Colour the bodice and skirt yellow, going around the sash, pockets and flowers.
Step 11: Yellow sparkles
Colour the 4 sparkles yellow too.
Step 12: Orange bow and sash
Colour the bow and the sash orange.
Step 13: Orange pockets
Colour the pockets and the flower middles orange, and your sundress is done!
