How to Draw Sugar

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw sugar in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the rim.

Print

  1. Step 1: The rim

Below the middle of your paper draw a flat oval, about a hand-width across.

  2. Step 2: The bowl

Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a round U down and up to the right end.

  3. Step 3: The foot

Under the bowl draw a short foot. Start on the bottom, go down, across, and back up to the bottom.

  4. Step 4: A heap of sugar

Start at the left end of the oval. Draw a tall round hill of sugar, stopping at the right end.

Tip Rub out the back of the oval inside the hill.

  5. Step 5: Two handles

On each side, just under the rim, draw a thin C handle that loops out and back to the bowl.

  6. Step 6: A spoon

On the right draw a spoon standing in the sugar, its long handle leaning up and out to the right.

  7. Step 7: A sugar cube

On the left of the hill draw a big sugar cube, a square with a thin top and side.

  8. Step 8: Stripe and dots

Draw a bowed line round the bowl under the rim, side to side. Add 3 dots under it.

  9. Step 9: The table

Draw a table line under the foot, from near the left edge across to the right.

  10. Step 10: White sugar, sky bowl

Leave the sugar and cube white. Colour the bowl, foot and handles sky blue, around the band and dots.

  11. Step 11: Blue band, grey spoon

Colour the band and the dots blue and the spoon grey, then go over your lines.
