How to Draw a Submersible
Draw a submersible in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: round body.
Step 1: Round body
In the middle of your paper, draw a big round body, like a fat ball, a little flat on top.
Tip A submersible is a little round diving pod, not a long tube.
Step 2: Porthole and hatch
On the right, draw a big round porthole with a circle inside. On top, add a box hatch and dome.
Step 3: Landing feet
Under the body, draw 2 little landing feet, one each side: a line down, a short flat foot, back up.
Step 4: The propeller
On the left, draw a propeller ring on a short bar. Inside, add a tiny hub with 3 curved blades.
Step 5: The robot arm
From the lower right of the body, draw a thick arm down to a round elbow, then up and out.
Step 6: The claw
On the end of the arm, draw a round joint with 2 curved pincers opening like a C.
Step 7: Headlight
On the top right of the body, draw a small round headlight.
Step 8: Sea surface and bubbles
Near the top, draw wave bumps from edge to edge. Under them, draw 3 bubbles rising from the hatch.
Step 9: Floor, weed, fish
Draw a bumpy sand line along the bottom. Add a wavy seaweed leaf on each side and a little fish.
Step 10: Yellow pod, sandy floor
Go over your lines. Colour the body, hatch and dome yellow, round the porthole and light. Colour the floor sand.
Step 11: Grey metal
Colour the landing feet, propeller, arm and claw grey.
Step 12: Sky glass, orange fish
Colour the porthole glass and the headlight sky blue, and the little fish orange.
Step 13: Green weed, blue sea
Colour the seaweed green. Colour all the water blue, around the submersible, fish and weed. Leave the bubbles white.
