How to Draw a Stuffed Elephant

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a stuffed elephant in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the head.

Print

  1. Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper, draw a big head, wider than tall, like an egg on its side.

Tip The head is almost half of the whole elephant.

  2. Step 2: Big fan ears

On each side of the head, draw a huge fan ear with a smaller fan inside it.

Tip The ears are nearly as big as the head!

  3. Step 3: Two big eyes

Halfway down the head, draw 2 big eyes close together. Add a black dot and shine in each.

  4. Step 4: A curly trunk

From between the eyes, draw 2 lines down past the chin. Curl them up to the right and join them.

  5. Step 5: Cheeks and wrinkles

Draw a little oval cheek on each side of the trunk. Add 2 short wrinkle lines across the trunk.

  6. Step 6: Round belly

Under the cheeks, draw a big pear body, widest low down. Add a tall oval tummy patch in the middle.

  7. Step 7: Hugging arms

From under each ear, draw a fat sausage arm down the body, bending in to a round mitten.

Tip The mittens nearly meet under the tummy patch.

  8. Step 8: Hips and feet

Halfway down the body, draw a round hip bump on each side, with a long flat foot under it.

  9. Step 9: Toes and ground

Draw 2 short toe lines on the end of each foot. Then draw a ground line under both feet.

  10. Step 10: A thin tail

Behind the right hip, draw a tail that gets thinner as it curls up, with a round tip.

  11. Step 11: Tummy stitches

On the tummy patch, draw 2 little crosses, one above the other, for stitches.

  12. Step 12: Pink ears, cream tummy

Colour the inner ears and the cheeks pink, and the tummy patch and the feet cream.

  13. Step 13: Grey all over

Go over your lines. Colour the elephant grey, around the pink and cream parts. Keep the eyes white.
