How to Draw a Postcard
Draw a postcard in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the card.
Step 1: The card
In the middle of your paper draw a wide rectangle with softly rounded corners, nearly touching both sides.
Step 2: The middle line
Start on the top edge. Draw one line straight down the middle of the card, stop on the bottom edge.
Step 3: 2 big eyes
In the left half draw 2 big egg eyes one eye apart. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: The stamp
In the top-right corner of the card draw a small square stamp with a tiny heart in the middle.
Step 6: Address lines
Under the stamp draw 3 lines across the right half, evenly spaced, stopping a little before the edge.
Step 7: Postmark
Left of the stamp draw 3 short wavy lines, one above the other, for the postmark.
Step 8: A little sun
In the card's top-left corner draw a small sun with 8 short rays, keeping a gap from the edge.
Step 9: Yellow sun and stamp
Go over your lines, then colour the sun and the stamp yellow, going around the heart.
Step 10: Pink cheeks, blue sky
Colour the cheeks pink, then the left half sky blue around the sun and face. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Red heart
Colour the heart on the stamp red. Your postcard is done!
