How to Draw a Stroopwafel

11 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a stroopwafel in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a saucer.

Print

  1. Step 1: A saucer

Near the bottom, draw a flat oval saucer about a hand across. Add a second oval inside for the rim.

  2. Step 2: The mug

Draw a flat mug-top oval. From its left end, go down, round the bottom, and up to its right end.

Tip The mug top sits above the middle, its bottom well inside the saucer.

  3. Step 3: The handle

On the right of the mug, start below the top. Curve a handle out and back, stopping lower down.

  4. Step 4: The waffle

On top of the mug, draw a waffle tipped toward you: an oval wider than the mug, covering its top.

  5. Step 5: Its thick edge

Start at the waffle's left end. Go a little down, curve along under it, and back up to the right end.

  6. Step 6: The waffle pattern

Across the waffle, draw 4 lines leaning one way and 4 leaning the other, to make little diamonds.

  7. Step 7: Steam

Above the waffle, draw 2 wiggly steam lines going up.

  8. Step 8: The table

Draw a long line under the saucer, just touching its bottom.

  9. Step 9: Tan waffle

Go over your lines, then colour the waffle and its edge tan, leaving the pattern lines showing.

  10. Step 10: Sky saucer

    Colour the saucer sky blue.

  11. Step 11: Red mug

Colour the mug and its handle red.
