How to Draw a Stink Bug
Draw a stink bug in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: a small head.
Step 1: A small head
A little above the middle draw a small egg head on its side. Leave lots of room below.
Tip A stink bug is a shield with a little head on top.
Step 2: Long feelers
Start near the top of the head. Draw a long feeler up and out to a black dot. Do both.
Step 3: Two big eyes
In the middle of the head draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add a black dot and shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a wide open smile like a flat-topped U. Add a round cheek beside each corner.
Step 5: The shield
Start on the chin. Draw out to a square shoulder, down to a bottom point, and back to the chin.
Tip Wide square shoulders and a pointed bottom make it a stink bug.
Step 6: Shield lines
Draw a line across the shield under the shoulders. Add a big V, then a line down to the point.
Step 7: Front legs
Start under each shoulder. Draw a leg up and out to a knee, then down to a small foot.
Tip Each leg is fat where it leaves the shield and thin at the foot.
Step 8: Middle legs
A thumb lower on each side, draw a leg straight out, then bend it down to a small foot.
Step 9: Back legs
Low on each shield slope, draw a leg down and out, then down to a small foot. 6 legs!
Step 10: Pink cheeks, red mouth
Colour the cheeks pink and the open mouth red.
Step 11: Green bug
Colour the head, the shield and all 6 legs green, around the eyes, cheeks and mouth. Leave the eyes white.
