How to Draw Sticks
Draw sticks in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the first stick.
Step 1: The first stick
From low left draw a long, gently bent stick leaning up right, getting thinner to a round tip.
Step 2: A crossed stick
From low right draw a second stick leaning up left, crossing behind the first near the top like an X.
Tip Stop your lines at the first stick and start again on the other side.
Step 3: A short stick
Along the ground between the 2 long sticks, draw a short stick lying flat, fatter on the left.
Step 4: Cut ends
On the fat end of each stick draw a small oval for the cut end.
Step 5: Stub and knot
From the first stick's top draw a short stub poking up. Add a tiny knot near its fat end.
Step 6: Bark lines
Draw short bark lines running along the sticks, 2 on each, away from where they cross.
Step 7: The ground
Draw a long straight ground line from the left edge to the right edge, running under the sticks.
Step 8: Grass
From the ground line at each side of the sticks flick 2 little grass blades up.
Step 9: Tan cut ends
Colour the 3 cut ends tan.
Step 10: Brown sticks
Colour the sticks and stub wood brown, around the tan ends and knot, then the knot dark brown.
