How to Draw a Mayflower Flower

Draw a mayflower flower in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stem.

Step 1: The stem
Start near the bottom, in the middle. Draw a thin stem straight up, stopping in the top third.
Tip Make it a little wider at the bottom.
Step 2: Two side stalks
Start low on the stem. Draw a thin curved stalk up and out to the left. Do the right too.
Tip The stalks stop about halfway up the stem, like a letter Y with a tall middle.
Step 3: The top petal
On the stem's tip draw a wide petal pointing straight up, with a soft point at its end.
Tip A mayflower petal is fat past the middle and narrow where it starts.
Step 4: Four more petals
From the same spot draw 4 more petals the same size, spread out evenly like a star.
Tip Two point out to the sides and two point down, one each side of the stem.
Step 5: The middle
Where the 5 petals meet, draw a small circle.
Step 6: The left flower
On the left stalk's tip draw a tiny circle. Draw 5 smaller petals all round it.
Tip Leave a gap between two petals for the stalk to come through.
Step 7: The right flower
Draw the same small flower on the right stalk's tip.
Step 8: Two leaves
Low on the stem, draw a wide leaf out to each side, each ending in a soft point.
Tip Mayflower leaves are fat ovals, wider than the petals.
Step 9: Leaf veins
Start at the stem. Draw a line along the middle of each leaf, stopping before the tip.
Step 10: The ground
Start well to the left. Draw a ground line under the stem, stopping well to the right.
Step 11: Yellow middles
Go over your lines, then colour the 3 flower middles yellow.
Step 12: Pink petals
Colour all 15 petals pink, around the yellow middles.
Step 13: Green stem and leaves
Colour the stem, both stalks and both leaves green. Your mayflower is done!
