How to Draw a Step Stool

10 steps · Medium · about 8 min

Draw a step stool in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the stepped shape.

Print

  1. Step 1: The stepped shape

In the middle of your paper draw the stool from the side, like 2 stairs going up to the right.

  2. Step 2: Two big eyes

On the side of the tall step draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.

  3. Step 3: Smile and cheeks

Under the eyes draw a wide U smile. Add a small flat oval cheek beside each eye.

  4. Step 4: The treads

Under each top edge draw a line across for a thick tread. Join the low one to the tall step.

  5. Step 5: The cut-outs

Under each step draw a rainbow arch for a cut-out, starting and ending on the bottom edge.

  6. Step 6: Floor line

Start a little in from the left edge. Draw a floor line under it, stopping near the right edge.

  7. Step 7: Sparkles

Draw a few little four-point sparkles around it to make it shine.

  8. Step 8: Yellow stool

Go over your lines, then colour the stool yellow, leaving the treads, cut-outs, eyes and cheeks white.

  9. Step 9: Yellow sparkles

    Colour the sparkles yellow.

  10. Step 10: Grey treads, pink cheeks

Colour the thick treads on top of each step grey, and the cheeks pink.
