How to Draw a Cap
Draw a cap in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the crown.
Step 1: The crown
Above the middle, draw a soft dome for the crown, wider than tall, with a pointy bottom left corner.
Tip Leave a hand of room on the left for the bill.
Step 2: The bill
Start at the crown's bottom left corner. Draw a long tongue out left, round tip, back to the crown.
Tip Make the tip round like a spoon, not pointy.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the crown, draw 2 big oval eyes close together, with a big black dot in the middle of each.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek beside each eye.
Step 5: The headband
Start on the crown's left, above the corner. Draw a curve like the bottom line over to the right.
Tip The strip between the two curves is the headband.
Step 6: The button
On top of the dome, a little right of the middle, draw a small oval button sitting across the line.
Step 7: Two seams
From the button, curve a seam down and out on each side, clear of the eyes, stopping on the headband.
Step 8: The stitches
Inside the bill's edge, draw a short solid curve round the tip. Add short dashes along the rest.
Step 9: Sky middle, pink cheeks
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the middle panel sky blue around them, and leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Blue sides, red bill
Colour the side panels darker blue. Colour the bill, the headband and the button on top red.
