How to Draw an Ocean Trash

12 steps · Medium · about 9 min

Draw an ocean trash in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the bottle.

Print

  1. Step 1: The bottle

Left of the middle draw a big tilted bottle: a narrow neck, round shoulders and a long body.

Tip Tilt it so the neck points up to the right, as if it is drifting.

  2. Step 2: Cap and label

Draw a small cap on the end of the neck. Draw 2 lines across the body for a label.

Tip Keep the 2 label lines the same slant as the bottle's bottom.

  3. Step 3: The cup

On the right draw a tilted cup, wider at the top. Add a flat lid along its top.

  4. Step 4: The straw

Draw a long thin straw poking up out of the lid.

Tip A straw is 2 straight lines side by side, joined at the top.

  5. Step 5: The can

Under the cup draw a can shape: start top left, go down, round the bottom, up to the top right.

  6. Step 6: Can top and bands

Join the top ends with a flat oval. Draw 2 curved bands across the can.

  7. Step 7: The sea floor

Draw a gently wavy line from edge to edge for the sand, jumping over the bottom of the can.

Tip The can has sunk to the bottom. The bottle and the cup are still drifting.

  8. Step 8: Seaweed

Grow 3 wavy seaweed blades up from the sand: one left, one in the middle, one right.

Tip Each blade starts and ends on the sand and comes to a point at the top.

  9. Step 9: Waves and bubbles

Near the top draw a wavy water line from edge to edge. Add 3 bubbles above the bottle's cap.

Tip Make the bubbles smaller as they go up.

  10. Step 10: Yellow and sand

Go over your lines. Colour the bottle's label and the cup yellow. Colour the sand a sandy yellow.

  11. Step 11: Red and grey

Colour the can, the bottle cap and the straw red. Colour the can's top and the cup's lid grey.

  12. Step 12: Green and blue

Colour the seaweed green and the water blue, around everything. Leave the bottle white. Your ocean trash is done!
