How to Draw Stacking Rings
Draw stacking rings in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the ball on top.
Step 1: The ball on top
Near the top, in the middle, draw a round ball about as big as a plum.
Tip We start at the top and stack the rings down from it.
Step 2: 2 big eyes
On the ball draw 2 round eyes side by side, each with a big black dot and a white shine.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small smile. Draw a little sideways oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Peg and smallest ring
Under the ball draw a short peg box. Under that draw a fat sausage, a little wider than the ball.
Tip The peg runs down through every ring; you only see the tip.
Step 5: 2 more rings
Under it draw 2 more sausages, each a little longer than the one above, lined up in the middle.
Step 6: 2 big rings
Stack 2 more sausages under those, each one longer again.
Step 7: The base
Under the biggest ring draw a wide low dome like an upside-down bowl, a little wider than the ring.
Tip The round base stops the tower tipping over.
Step 8: Ground, shadow and sparkles
Draw a ground line under the base, a flat oval shadow, and 4 sparkle stars around the tower.
Step 9: Yellow ball, pink cheeks
Colour the ball, the middle ring and the sparkles yellow, around the eyes and cheeks. Colour the cheeks pink.
Tip Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Orange and green rings
Colour the ring under the yellow one orange and the ring above it green.
Step 11: Red and blue rings
Colour the bottom ring red and the top ring blue.
Step 12: Purple base, grey shadow
Colour the peg and the base purple and the shadow grey. Your stacking rings are done!
