How to Draw a Pot of Gold
Draw a pot of gold in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: fat round pot.
Step 1: Fat round pot
Draw a fat round pot on the right. Its top edge dips down, for the front of the rim.
Tip The rim is a little narrower than the belly.
Step 2: Gold and rim
Draw a bumpy pile of gold on the pot. From each end of the rim, curve up to the gold.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the belly of the pot, draw 2 big egg eyes, one eye apart. Add black dots with shines.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes, draw a wide U smile from eye to eye. Add a small oval cheek at each end.
Step 5: Two little feet
Under the pot, draw 2 stubby feet, one on each side, like little boxes.
Step 6: The ground
Start out on the left. Draw one long straight ground line under the feet, and stop out on the right.
Step 7: Coins
Draw 2 round coins on the pile of gold, and 3 more on the ground by the feet.
Step 8: The rainbow
Start on the ground far left. Draw a huge arch over to the pot. Add 3 smaller arches inside.
Tip The rainbow lands in the pot, so the bands disappear behind it.
Step 9: Shine
On the left side of the belly, draw one short curve that follows the pot round, for the shine.
Step 10: Yellow gold
Colour the pile of gold, every coin and the middle band of the rainbow yellow.
Step 11: Pink cheeks
Colour the 2 cheeks pink.
Step 12: Red and sky bands
Colour the top band of the rainbow red and the bottom band sky blue.
Step 13: Slate pot
Go over your lines. Colour the pot, rim and feet slate grey, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
