How to Draw a Stable
Draw a stable in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the walls.
Step 1: The walls
In the middle, draw a big wide box for the front wall, a little wider than it is tall.
Tip A stable is a little barn with a half door for a horse.
Step 2: The roof
On top of the box, draw a pointed roof sticking out past both corners. Draw a line along its bottom.
Step 3: Hay loft
Below the roof point, draw an arched loft door. Draw bumpy hay from one side across to the other.
Step 4: Half door
Draw a tall framed door on the left. Below the middle, add a line across, a plank and a brace.
Step 5: Horse's head
Peeking over the door, draw a long head with a wide nose, 2 pointy ears and a tuft.
Step 6: Horse's face
Draw 2 big eyes with black dots and white specks. On the nose, draw 2 nostrils and a smile.
Step 7: Window and flower box
On the right, draw a window with a cross. Below it, draw a flower box with 3 bumpy flowers.
Step 8: Horseshoe and ground
Between the door and window, draw a horseshoe: a thick upside-down U. Add a ground line underneath.
Step 9: Yellow hay, cream nose
Go over your lines. Colour the hay yellow and the horse's nose cream. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Sky window, tan wood
Colour the window sky blue, then the loft door around the hay, the frames, bottom door and box tan.
Step 11: Pink flowers, grey horseshoe
Colour the flowers pink and the horseshoe grey.
Step 12: Red walls, brown roof
Colour the wall red around the door, window, box and horseshoe, and the roof brown around the loft.
Step 13: Brown horse, dark doorway
Colour the horse brown around its nose and eyes, and the doorway dark grey around the horse.
Tip Your stable is ready for bedtime!
