How to Draw a Squid
Draw a squid in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: tall body.
Step 1: Tall body
Near the top, draw a tall soft cone body with a rounded top and a cup bottom.
Step 2: Two fins
Near the top, on each side, draw a rounded fin swooping out and down, back to the body.
Step 3: Big eyes and smile
Low on the body, draw 2 big round eyes with black dots and shines. Add a small U smile.
Step 4: Two middle arms
Under the body, draw 2 wavy arms hanging down, thinner to round tips, with a gap between them.
Step 5: Two outer arms
From each bottom corner of the body, draw an arm swinging out and curving down to a round tip.
Step 6: Two long tentacles
From each side of the body, draw a long tentacle getting thinner, then swelling into a flat paddle.
Step 7: Suckers
Draw 2 little circles down the middle of each outer arm, and one on each paddle.
Step 8: Seabed and bubbles
Draw a seabed line across the bottom below every tip. Draw 3 bubbles floating up on the left.
Step 9: Cream suckers, pink squid
Colour the suckers cream, then the squid pink, around the suckers. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Sandy floor, blue bubbles
Colour the seabed sand and the bubbles water blue.
