How to Draw a Spotlight
Draw a spotlight in 10 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the drum.
Step 1: The drum
In the middle draw a tilted box a bit longer than tall, its front end pointing up to the right.
Tip Like a can aimed at the sky.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the drum, left of its middle, draw 2 big egg eyes. Colour a big black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a U smile from eye to eye, and a small oval cheek beside each end.
Step 4: Rim and back
Across the front end of the drum draw a thick rim band. On the back end draw a small cap.
Step 5: The stand
Under the drum draw a short neck, a round knob, then a thin pole straight down to a flat base.
Step 6: The beam
From the rim's 2 corners draw 2 lines spreading out, stopping well before the edge. Join them with a curve.
Step 7: Ground and sparkles
Draw a ground line under the base from the left edge to the right edge, and 3 sparkle stars.
Step 8: Pink and yellow
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink, and the sparkles and the big V of light yellow.
Step 9: Grey drum
Colour the drum grey around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white.
Step 10: Black rim and stand
Colour the rim, back cap, knob, neck, pole and base black, and your spotlight is shining!
