How to Draw a Spiny Lobster
Draw a spiny lobster in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: big egg shell.
Step 1: Big egg shell
In the middle of your paper draw a big rounded shell like an egg, a little taller than wide.
Step 2: Two thick feelers
From the top of the shell, one each side, draw a long, thick feeler curving out to a thin tip.
Tip No big claws here: the long, thick feelers are its weapons.
Step 3: Big eyes
Near the top of the shell draw 2 big round eyes. Add a black dot and a shine in each.
Step 4: Happy face
Under the eyes draw a small smile, and a little round cheek on each side of it.
Step 5: Banded tail
Under the shell draw a tail getting narrower as it goes down. Add 3 lines across to make 4 bands.
Step 6: Tail fan
Under the tail draw a fan of 5 round flaps: a big one in the middle and 2 each side.
Step 7: Walking legs
On each side of the shell draw 4 short legs bending out and down, getting thinner to the tips.
Step 8: Sandy sea floor
Draw a straight line across the paper, touching the bottom of the middle flap.
Step 9: Pink cheeks and sand
Colour the cheeks pink. Colour the sand, from the line down to the edges of the paper.
Step 10: Ginger shell and tail
Colour the shell and the tail ginger, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Ginger feelers and legs
Colour the feelers, the legs and the tail fan ginger too. Your spiny lobster is done!
