How to Draw a Spider Crab
Draw a spider crab in 11 easy steps, about 8 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: pear-shaped body.
Step 1: Pear-shaped body
In the middle draw a small pear-shaped body, wide at the bottom, with 2 little horns on top.
Tip The legs are the whole show: keep the body small, with room around it.
Step 2: Eyes on stalks
Beside the horns draw 2 stalks leaning out, each ending in a round eye with a pupil and a shine.
Step 3: Happy face
Low on the body draw a small U smile, and a little round cheek at each side of it.
Step 4: Top legs
From each side draw a long thin leg up to a high knee, then down to a pointed foot.
Tip The top legs bend at a knee high above the body, like a spider's.
Step 5: Middle legs
Under them draw another long leg each side the same way, knee lower and foot a little closer in.
Step 6: Lower legs
Lowest of all draw one more leg each side, knee lower still and foot closer in.
Step 7: Thin claws
From the body's upper sides draw 2 thin arms reaching up and out, each ending in a small pincer.
Tip The claws are small and thin: a spider crab is all legs.
Step 8: The sand
Draw the sand as one straight line across the paper under all the feet.
Step 9: Cheeks and sand
Colour the cheeks pink and the sand under the line sandy.
Step 10: Ginger body and claws
Colour the body, horns, stalks, arms and claws ginger, around the cheeks. Leave the eyes white.
Step 11: Ginger legs
Colour all six legs ginger. Go over your lines and you're done!
