How to Draw Curling
Draw curling in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the top.
Step 1: The top
A little above the middle, draw 1 flat oval, wide and low, for the top of the stone.
Step 2: Round side
Start at the oval's left point. Bulge out and down, curve under, and bulge up to the right point.
Tip The side swells out wider than the top oval.
Step 3: Two big eyes
On the front, under the top oval, draw 2 big round eyes with a black dot and a white shine.
Step 4: Smile and cheeks
Start under the left eye. Draw a wide U smile and stop under the right eye. Add 2 cheeks.
Step 5: The handle
Start on the top oval, left of middle. Draw a rainbow over to the right. Add a smaller one inside.
Step 6: The band
Below the smile, start on the left side. Draw a curve across to the right side. Add another just under.
Step 7: Shadow and ice
Under the stone, draw a flat oval shadow. Draw a straight ice line from each end to the paper's edge.
Step 8: A shine
Start inside the left edge, level with the eyes. Draw a short curved shine line up along the edge.
Step 9: Sparkles
Draw 3 little sparkle stars around the stone, 2 up high and 1 on the right, not touching it.
Step 10: Cheeks and sparkles
Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks pink and the 3 sparkles yellow.
Step 11: Grey stone
Colour the stone and its shadow grey, around the pink cheeks. Leave the eyes and the band white.
Step 12: Red handle, navy band
Colour the handle red and the band navy. Your curling stone is done!
