How to Draw a Softball Player

Step 1: The head

Near the top of your paper, in the middle, draw an egg head, a little narrower at the chin.

Tip Leave most of the page below for the body and legs.

Step 2: The face

Draw 2 big eyes with dots and shines, and a lash on each. Add a U nose and a smile.

Step 3: Pigtails

Beside each eye draw a little hair tie on the head, with a pointy bunch of hair hanging down.

Step 4: Softball cap

Draw a cap over the top of the head, a bill sticking out right and a button on top.

Tip The bill is long and flat, rounded at the end.

Step 5: Jersey and number

Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a jersey ending at the right one. Add a number 4.

Step 6: Arms

From each sleeve draw 2 lines down to the wrist. They bend at the elbow and get closer together.

Step 7: Glove and fist

On the left wrist draw a big glove with a thumb and 3 finger bumps. Draw the right fist.

Tip Draw a cuff line across the top of the glove, where the arm goes in.

Step 8: Softball bat

Through the fist draw a bat standing on the ground: a knob on top, 2 lines down, a round end.

Tip The bat gets wider toward the ground and passes behind the fist.

Step 9: Shorts and legs

From the jersey's bottom corners draw shorts with 2 legs. Under each one draw a leg, thinner at the ankle.

Step 10: Cleats and ground

Under each leg draw a cleat with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under both.

Step 11: Big softball

On the ground under the glove draw a big round ball. Add 2 curved seams inside, one on each side.

Tip A softball is bigger than a baseball.

Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, neck, arms, fist and legs peach around them. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Yellow ball, blue kit

Colour the softball yellow. Colour the cap and the jersey blue. Leave the shorts white.

Step 14: Brown and black

Colour the pigtails, the glove and the bat brown, around the fist. Colour the cleats black.
