How to Draw a Socket Wrench
Draw a socket wrench in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: head and handle.
Step 1: Head and handle
Left of the middle draw a soft round head that narrows into a long handle slanting down to the right.
Tip A socket wrench has a round head and a socket that fits a bolt.
Step 2: Two big eyes
On the round head draw 2 round eyes side by side, a little apart. Colour a black dot in each.
Step 3: Smile and cheeks
Under the eyes draw a small U smile, and a tiny flat oval cheek beside each eye.
Step 4: The socket
Under the head draw a short fat tube hanging down for the socket, with a curved rim near its top.
Step 5: The nut
Under the socket draw a 6-sided nut for it to sit on: flat top, slanted sides, flat bottom.
Step 6: The grip
Draw a line across the handle from edge to edge, a little past the middle, where the grip starts.
Step 7: The plate
Under the nut draw a long thin box lying on the ground for the metal plate the bolt screws into.
Step 8: Ground and sparkles
Draw a ground line under the plate, past both ends, and a sparkle in the air each side.
Step 9: Pink cheeks, gold nut
Go over your lines, then colour the cheeks pink and the nut yellow. Leave the eyes white.
Step 10: Grey socket, red grip
Colour the socket grey, and the handle red from the grip line to its end.
Step 11: Slate wrench
Colour the head and handle slate, around the face and up to the red grip.
Step 12: Slate plate
Colour the plate slate. Click, click, click!
