How to Draw a Polaroid Camera
Draw a Polaroid camera in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the body.
Step 1: The body
Below the middle draw a big box with soft corners for the camera body, wider than tall.
Tip Leave room above it for a photo to pop out.
Step 2: The lens
In the middle of the body draw one big round circle for the lens.
Step 3: Lens rings
Inside the lens draw a smaller circle, and a small dark circle right in the middle.
Step 4: The photo
Draw a flat slot on top. Rising out of it, draw a tall photo box with a picture box inside.
Tip The photo's bottom hides behind the camera.
Step 5: A heart
In the picture draw a heart: a point at the bottom and 2 round bumps on top.
Step 6: Flash and viewfinder
At the body's top left draw a small flash box with a circle inside. Top right, a viewfinder box.
Step 7: Rainbow stripe
Left of the lens draw a tall thin stripe of 5 little boxes stacked up, from the body's middle down.
Step 8: Button and table
Near the body's bottom right draw a small round button. Rule a table line along the bottom, edge to edge.
Tip Lift your pencil where the table line would go through the camera.
Step 9: Blue picture, tan body
Colour the picture sky blue and the body tan, around the shapes inside them. Leave the photo's border white.
Tip Go over your lines before you colour.
Step 10: Yellow flash
Colour the flash and the middle stripe box yellow. Colour the box above it orange.
Step 11: Red heart
Colour the box under the yellow one green. Colour the heart, the button and the top box red.
Step 12: Blue box, grey lens
Colour the bottom box blue. Colour the viewfinder, outer lens ring and centre dark grey, leaving the middle white.

Your finished drawing
Follow the steps above and this is where you end up: a Polaroid camera, drawn by you.
