How to Draw a Soccer Goalie

Step 1: Head and ears

Draw an egg head below the top. Add a C ear each side, starting and stopping on the head.

Tip Leave room above the head for the goal.

Step 2: The face

Draw 2 big eyes in the middle with dots and shines. Add a U nose, a smile and 2 eyebrows.

Step 3: Tufty hair

Start above the left ear. Draw soft tufts over the top, stop above the right ear. Add a hairline curve.

Step 4: Long-sleeved jersey

Draw 2 neck lines. From the left one draw a long-sleeved jersey, sleeves bent up, ending at the right one.

Tip Each sleeve goes out, bends at the elbow and ends in a straight cuff.

Step 5: Big gloves

On each cuff draw a big glove with 4 round fingers on top and a thumb by the head.

Tip Make each glove about half as wide as the head.

Step 6: Shorts

Start at the jersey's bottom left corner. Draw shorts with 2 legs, ending at the bottom right corner.

Step 7: Legs and long socks

Under each shorts leg draw a leg that gets thinner to the ankle. Add a sock curve below each knee.

Step 8: Boots and ground

Under each leg draw a boot with the toe pointing out. Draw a long ground line under the boots.

Step 9: The goal

Draw a long thin bar above the hair. From each end draw a thin post straight down to the ground.

Tip Keep the bar and the posts clear of the gloves.

Step 10: Net lines down

Inside the goal draw 2 thin lines down each side, from the bar to the ground. Stop at the goalie.

Step 11: Net lines across

Draw 6 thin lines across from post to post, evenly spaced. Stop wherever you reach the goalie.

Tip The net is behind the goalie, so no line crosses the body.

Step 12: Peach skin, pink cheeks

Colour 2 pink cheeks. Colour the face, ears, neck and knees peach around them. Leave the eyes white.

Step 13: Yellow and blue kit

Colour the jersey and the socks yellow. Colour the gloves and the shorts blue.

Step 14: Brown hair, black boots

Colour the hair brown and the boots black. Leave the goal white, and your goalie is done.
