How to Draw a Snow Shovel
Draw a snow shovel in 12 easy steps, about 9 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.
Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the blade.
Step 1: The blade
Below the middle draw a wide blade. Inside it draw an upside-down U, starting and stopping low on the sides.
Tip The blade is wider than it is tall. The inside line makes it a scoop, like a big dustpan.
Step 2: Shaft and collar
Start on top of the blade. Draw a small collar box, then 2 close shaft lines up, stopping high up.
Step 3: A happy face
On the blade draw 2 big round eyes with black dots, and a wide U smile from eye to eye.
Step 4: The D handle
Across the top of the 2 shaft lines draw a fat pill lying sideways, wider than the shaft: the handle.
Step 5: The handle hole
Inside the handle draw a smaller pill the same shape, leaving a thick rim all round, for the hole.
Step 6: Rosy cheeks
Draw a small oval cheek out beside each end of the smile, level with the smile.
Step 7: The wear strip
Start on the left of the blade, a finger above the bottom. Draw a straight line across to the right.
Step 8: Ground and snow pile
Draw a ground line under the blade. On the left, draw a snow pile of 2 soft bumps on it.
Step 9: Snowflakes
Draw 3 little snowflakes in the air beside the shovel. Each is 3 short lines crossing in the middle.
Tip Snowflakes are tiny: each one no bigger than a fingernail.
Step 10: Cheeks and collar
Go over your lines. Colour the cheeks peach and the collar grey, and leave the snow pile white.
Step 11: Blue blade, wood shaft
Colour the blade blue around the cheeks, leaving the eyes white. Colour the shaft wood brown.
Step 12: Red handle
Colour the handle rim red, leaving the hole white, and your snow shovel is done!
