How to Draw a Snow Fort

13 steps · Medium · about 10 min

Draw a snow fort in 13 easy steps, about 10 minutes. Free, with a printable worksheet.

Each picture adds one red line. Draw that line, then scroll to the next picture. Rub out any dashed helper lines at the end. First up: the wall.

Print

  1. Step 1: The wall

Start low left. Go up a bumpy side, over 3 soft bumps, down a bumpy side, back along the bottom.

Tip A snow fort is a low wall of big snow blocks, so keep every corner soft and round.

  2. Step 2: Snowy ground

From each bottom corner of the wall, draw a gentle snow line out to the edge of the paper.

  3. Step 3: Block rows

Draw 2 lines across the wall from side to side, curving gently like the bottom of the wall.

  4. Step 4: Snow blocks

Between the rows, draw short up-and-down lines, staggered like bricks, to make big snow blocks.

Tip The top lines start in the dips between the bumps.

  5. Step 5: Woolly hat

Above the middle bump, draw a hat band, a round hat on top of it and a pompom.

  6. Step 6: A friend

Under the hat band, draw the sides of a round face down to the wall. Add 2 C ears.

Tip Your friend is hiding behind the wall, so the chin is out of sight.

  7. Step 7: Eyes and smile

Draw 2 big eyes with a dark dot and shine. Start a smile below one eye, stop below the other.

  8. Step 8: A flag

From the left bump, draw a stick straight up, stopping level with the pompom. Add a triangle flag.

  9. Step 9: Snowballs

On the snow in front, to the right, draw 2 snowballs side by side and 1 on top.

  10. Step 10: Snowflakes

In the sky, draw 3 little snowflakes. Each one is 3 short lines crossing in the middle.

  11. Step 11: Peach face

Colour the face and ears peach, with 2 pink cheeks. Leave the eyes white.

  12. Step 12: Light blue snow

Colour the snow light blue, right to the edges of the paper, around the snowballs.

  13. Step 13: Red flag, blue hat

Colour the flag red and the hat blue, leaving the band and pompom white. The wall stays white.
